Short version: AIFreePDF is a 100% browser-based tool. Your files never leave your device. We don't collect, store, or see any of your documents. We use Google Analytics only for anonymous page visit tracking.
1. Who We Are
AIFreePDF (www.aifreepdf.com) is a free, browser-based PDF and image processing platform developed by Arvind Kumar Pandey. Our tools include PDF compression, merging, splitting, rotating, image conversion, AI-powered summarization, AI chat with PDF, and OCR text extraction.
AIFreePDF is committed to building tools that respect user privacy by design. Our core principle: your documents are yours — we never want to see them, store them, or profit from them.
2. What Data We Collect
We collect the minimum amount of data necessary to operate the service:
- We do NOT collect: Your PDF files, images, or any document content processed by our standard tools.
- We do NOT collect: Your name, email address, phone number, or any personal identifying information.
- We do NOT collect: Payment information (AIFreePDF is completely free).
- We DO collect (anonymously): Page visit data via Google Analytics — which pages you visited, approximate geographic region (country/city level), browser type, and device type. This data is aggregated and anonymized.

Analytics data is anonymous. Google Analytics does not identify you personally. We use it only to understand which tools are most used and how to improve the website.
3. Your Files — How They Are Processed
All standard PDF tools on AIFreePDF are 100% browser-based. This means:
- When you upload a PDF or image, it is loaded directly into your browser's memory.
- All processing (compression, merging, splitting, rotation, conversion) happens on your device using JavaScript.
- Your file is never uploaded to any server, cloud, or third-party system.
- When you close the tab or refresh the page, all file data is immediately cleared from memory.
- We have no technical capability to access, view, or store your documents — even if we wanted to.

Verification: You can verify this yourself — open browser DevTools (F12) → Network tab → upload and process a file. You will see zero outbound file uploads. All network activity is limited to loading the page itself.
4. AI Tools — Data Handling
AIFreePDF offers three AI-powered tools: SwiftMind™ PDF Summarizer, DocuTalk™ Chat with PDF, and TextLens™ OCR. These tools involve sending data to an external AI API. Here is exactly how each handles your data:
SwiftMind™ PDF Summarizer & DocuTalk™ Chat
- Your PDF file is never transmitted. Text is extracted locally in your browser using pdf.js.
- Only the extracted text content (not the file itself) is sent to the AI API (Google Gemini) for summarization or answering questions.
- This text transmission happens over HTTPS (encrypted connection).
- The text is used solely to generate a response and is not stored permanently by AIFreePDF.
- Google Gemini's own privacy policy applies to data sent to their API. See: policies.google.com/privacy
TextLens™ OCR
- OCR processing uses Tesseract.js — a fully browser-based OCR engine. Your image is processed entirely on your device.
- Only the extracted raw text (not your image) is optionally sent to the AI API for formatting and cleanup.
- Your image file is never transmitted to any server.

Recommendation for sensitive documents: If your PDF contains highly confidential information (medical records, legal contracts, financial statements), we recommend using only the standard PDF tools (compress, merge, split, etc.) which are 100% local. Avoid sending such content through the AI tools, as the extracted text is sent to an external API.
5. Google Analytics
AIFreePDF uses Google Analytics 4 (GA4) to collect anonymous usage data. This includes:
- Pages visited and time spent on each page
- Approximate geographic location (country and city — not exact address)
- Browser type, operating system, and device category (mobile/desktop)
- Traffic source (how you found our website)
This data is aggregated and does not personally identify you. It is used solely to improve AIFreePDF — understanding which tools are used most and how users navigate the site.
You can opt out of Google Analytics tracking by installing the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.
6. Cookies
AIFreePDF does not use its own cookies. However, Google Analytics sets cookies on your browser to track sessions and distinguish unique visitors. These are analytics cookies only — they do not store any personal information or document content.
You can manage or delete cookies through your browser settings at any time. Disabling analytics cookies will not affect the functionality of any AIFreePDF tool.
7. Third-Party Services
AIFreePDF uses the following third-party services:

- Google Fonts — Typography (Inter and Space Grotesk fonts loaded from Google CDN).
- jsDelivr CDN — Delivery of open-source JavaScript libraries (pdf.js, pdf-lib, Tesseract.js).
- Cloudflare CDN — Delivery of JavaScript libraries (pdf.js worker).
AIFreePDF does not sell, rent, or share any user data with advertisers or data brokers. There are no advertisements on AIFreePDF.
8. Children's Privacy
AIFreePDF does not knowingly collect any personal information from children under the age of 13. Our tools are general-purpose document utilities suitable for all ages. Since we do not collect personal data from any user, there is no special risk to children.
If you believe a child has provided personal information through our service, please contact us and we will address it immediately.
9. Your Rights
Since AIFreePDF does not collect personal data, most data rights (access, deletion, portability) do not practically apply. However:
- Right to opt out of analytics: Use the Google Analytics Opt-out Add-on or disable cookies in your browser.
- Right to information: This privacy policy explains everything we do with data. Nothing is hidden.
